i like one piece but the time skip is disappointing me so far and the current arc seems lame i want it to go back to what made one piece good

I think with this arc, Tite is just reintroducing us to the characters and their new power levels.

Ya, I really, REALLY hope so.

I was never able to get into the anime very far because it didn't catch my opinion like others. However, a lot of people have recommended it to me in the past. Should I try muscling through it in order to read the manga and watch the anime or what? I know it has a good plot, I just don't know why I can't watch it.

If I do watch or read, should I skip some or do I have to watch/read it all to know what's going on?

I love One Piece, as my 2nd favorite manga of all time!

When I started watching it I skipped A LOT. I watched up to the Arlong Park arc, and then skipped till the Jaya and skypiea arcs, and then skipped again to Sabaody Achepegelo arc up till right now. I am starting to go back and watch what I skipped now.

So, you can skip a LOT and still understand what is going on.

However, if you are gonna try again, make sure you watch these arcs:
Buggy The Clown Arc
Arlong Arc (don't have to watch ALL of it, but watch most of it.)
Whiskey Peak Arc
Alabasta Arc (It isn't needed to understand the story, but I liked it)
Jaya Arc (helps you understand next arc, introduces you to BlackBeard, not needed)
Water 7/Enies Lobby arcs (2nd fave storyline in series)
Thriller Bark (Not needed, introduces you to a new crew member)
Sabaody Archipegelo arc
Impel Down/Marineford arcs (fave storyline)


so ya, those are the ones yo should watch, but you really only need the ones in bold.

I never watched one piece past the 4kids dubbed alabasta ark.
